World hunger paragraph

                   The topic i choose, was World Hunger. The idea had always been in my mind, but i took a final decision, when my dad showed me a power point. The name was "Las dos cards de la moneda" in english, it would be "The two faces of the coin". It made me start thinking how fortunate we are, and we never seem to care about other. Then I saw a poster that compared somethings that we always fight with your mother  for, but seen in the prospective of a kid in poverty. That simply shocked me. The only thing i could think of that day was about that.

                   The Ethos in my video, are the people that said originally said the facts that i put in the video. For example Mother Teresa said "If you can't feed 100, then feed only 1". This means that 1 person can't end world hunger, but if everyone helps a little bit, we can end this. If every one would just start thinking in the other people and collaborated just a bit, this problem can be fixed. We can finish what others generations couldn't.

                    The feeling are very clear, It makes you think, it makes you sad, and it makes you realize, how lucky you really are. It makes you think about the situation of the world. It makes you think in your position in the world. 1 billion children live in poverty, but still we through our food. Every 6 seconds a kid dies of hunger, and still we through out our food. The pictures are also very helpful. The music at the end probably goes a little to happy, but i wanted to use a type of music that represents the majority of us. We know the problem, we know everything, but we still don't do anything about it.

                    Logos are the facts that i give through out the video.  There are not much, but i wanted to make a video that was simple but very deep. The style is a very visual one. There are lots of pictures, sentence facts, and slow music. The point of view that this presentation is made, is the point of view of the viewer. The children that don't notice how lucky they are.

                    Thats why i choose this world problem. It is a very important, and very big world wide problem. I really think that people have to put more attention to this problem, because if the population keeps growing, and the food quantity keeps going down, we are in serious problems. This is why i think this is a very important think to change.

 I choose this topic because i think its very important, and is something that is happening every day. World hunger is not something you can finish in a week or in a year, its something you can finish in a life time. That why we need to start, so then the next generation can put his part and so on, until the job is done. This is something so big, that is happening in every country of the world.

950 million people suffer of hunger in the world. 950 million people is a very big number. We have developed new airplane so fortunate people can travel, we developed new cellphones so fortunate people can communicate, we are even starting a new era in technology. All this thing are new to the world. All this things were first saw 50 years ago, but what happens with a problem that was been around for sentries? We do nothing.

We need to start trying to stop this epidemic. We need to creat new food systems that make more food, and start thinking of others. Something more important than money, is been a good person. If we put all the energy that we put when we try to think of ways to make more money, and we spend ti on thinking how to finish or at least in a way to help world hunger, we would make it. We could stop a problem that our ancestor couldn't do it, that our parents couldn't do it. We would make a creat contribution to the history of the wold.

STYLE: Very inspiring
ETHOS: The feeling is very hard,, when you see people from your age playing for a club that you see on TV, and you could only imagine playing for.
PATHOS: The people form the big team
LOGOS: When the true manager talks, and when the player form the big team talks

Style

1. A lot of pictures, sad, slow mood music, and cots from experts and foundations. This is told with the point of view of the children.
2. Interviews with real scents that study the stomage, pictures and videos of real situations and in between the interviews a soft slow music. The point of view used here is the experts point view.
3. Pictures of happy children paling outside, and then the change of mood sad pictures a video of a skinny child having to work. The point of view is from the audience

For me the best idea is the number 1. I have looked at a lot of different persuasive sad commercials, and the best one is this one. If i can find the music and the images correctly, this will defiantly work.

Another reason that was very help full, was when they said that the wild horses are a true american symbol. Why i need an up-grade.....

I think i should get an up-grade because i was very sum and didn't finish my work. Now i know that i need to do my work on the day that it was asined, because if not i will be to lazy and will end up not doing it. If you see, i was missing 1 or 2 big things, and the rest was little easy things. I thought that they were so short and easy, that i could do them in homeroom or at break. Now i know that i can't. Not because the time, but because i will get distracted and will end up talking to my friend or playing soccer instead of the work.

Myth

There once was a young little nerd called Smithy. He was very intelligent in every school subject. He had the best school record in the whole school. When I say the best record in the whole school, I mean he has or had a perfect school record. His best friend was Lorence. He was also a nerd, but not as much as Smithy. The problem that smithy had, was that he was a perfectionist. Some people may call it an advantage, but what he had was the contrary. The only good thing about it, it gave him a convincing power. He could convince anything on earth, if he could talk with them for 2 minutes.

One september noon, Smithy was walking to math class. He in his mind he had, well his classic mentality. The thing that he didn't know, was that john and bill the school bullies had entered to the principals room, searched in the files, and found something that they really liked to damage. They had found his school record! They thought more than they did in any class; trying to figure out the perfect way to destroy his school record, while having fun. They disided to take the record home, and consult it with the pillow. The next day John had what he described as “the most intelligent idea he had ever had”.  A lot of people would agree with that. His idea was that he was going to burn up Smithies school record. He argued with billy that his idea was the best, but at the end they did billies idea.

The next day, they stated the plan. They made Smithies life impossible, they made his get late to every class, they stoled his notes, they pushed him around. Smithy was very worried because if he had one more tardy, he would have an office referral, and that would damage his record. He tried to speak with the aggressors, but they simply pushed him to a locker and keep walking.

He was running to m23 (math class). M19, m20, m21..... The next thing that he sees, was billies strong long arm strait in his way. “JA JA JA JA nerd on the floor, classic” “Stop imitating Alan from the hangover john. Looks like your school record is now dirty, just like you smithy.”  He tries with all his mental and physical power to get up and run straight, but he was to dizzy to run. “Don’t mind entering, keep walking to the office boy.” said Mrs. Gonzales. I don't now if I really saw it, but i could swear that Smithy was crying. Smithy disappeared for the whole day. They had al ready start a rumor, that he had passed out while going to the office. Also Alice a girl form my science class, said that she saw him running to the gate trying to escape.

The next day he went to school very depressed. He barley didn't talk. At lunch we asked him what was bothering him like 100 times, but he always says “This just hasn't been my week.” The next day he finally talked! He became again the Smithy that everybody liked. The rest of the day was very normal, until i went home and received the call. It was smithy, but this was a side of him a had never seen. “You want to do what?” i said, “Its easy, we go in to mr hickeys office, we avoid the cat, we get the hat and we leave.” “Look man it impossible. First we need to avoid a 6 foot tall cat, that was especially made to stop students to enter the gods rooms. Just imagine what he would do to use, he is the god of torture!” It was a long conversation, but at the end, i don’t know how he did it but he convinced me.

The next day, we wasted break and lunch making a perfect plan and a perfect escape. “ Can you tell me why we are doing this?” “Remember when i got send to the office, when i got to Dr. I, he said that the only way that i could erase that, was if i brought him mr hickeys hat.” “So what i’m doing here” i said with my toy store voice. “That same day, i tried to take that hat. I had totally forgot about the cat.” “So you need me to take out a giant oversized killer cat?” “If we are two we can confuse him.” I just stopped asking, because every time i asked i chicken out more. 

It was the day for the attack, we had all we needed for the plan in a bag.  Smithy seemed normal, but i was very afraid. My legs couldn't stay together, they were shaking like a pair of mexican maracas. “Lets go” said Smithy. We both went together to the office, but when we got there i went to the main desk, and he just stared to a picture next to the hallway that ended in the torture room, mr hickys office. The first part of the plan was very old school. I started a big discussion and he would enter the hallway with me following him. “ok its time” I walk normally to the desk and pinch a guy that was to spots from me. “whats your problem man” says the first step of this magnificent plan. Then the other guy Surprises very one with a soccer punch to the gonads to step 1. That was the signal that Smithy needed. He enter the hall and i go right after him. The Hall was the scariest most simple place ever.  It was like 5 meters long, red old paint, cold, and the walls were close together. The foot steps sound just like in a cave. 

Very Slowly we open the door at the end of that infernal hall. I wanted to open it, but i was to scared. Smithy opened just a little part of the door; and there it was. The giant cat from hell. I opened the bag and passed a bag to smithy.  He opened and took out a a big stress ball, a boll, and 2 jars of sleeping medicine. He put the boll under the ball, and started purring down the medicine into the ball. Then he took a pen and opened little holes into the stress ball and with the medicine that was on the boll, he dipped the ball in the medicine leaving it extra wet. 

 

I opened just a bit the door, and Smithy Threw the ball right to the cats face. I closed the door as fast as i could. We waited like 30 minutes, and then i reached inside the bag, and took out a fake mouse. Smithy opened the door, and threw the fake mouse just like with the ball, but this time he didn't close the door. He checked that the cat was as sleep or if he was still awake. “Ok its clear, time to move” Smithy opened the door completely for the first time, and we started waking. 

When we started walking, we saw the cat’s body for the first time, it was amazing. He was black with blue stripes in the back. HIs head was very big, especially wide. He had big eyes and a very very big mouth. In his Paws, my head could easily fit. He was also very fat. The most amazing characteristic of this cat was the size. It was shocking. 

There was like 20 meters from door to door. It was a very big (like a cave) kind of room. The walls were leaking water. The sound of a drop falling down was the only nose i could here. The door had a poster in latin. “Hey I remember latin from last year, it says  Nice to see you, bad place to see you.” The most scary thing of the poster were the little people in the picture. There was a adult and a kid. In the first part, the adult and the kid were shaking hands happily. But in the last part, The adult was hiding a knife in his back. You could see in the back round, cars in fire, a thief with a purrs. I accept that i orinated my self a little.

  I told Smithy that i would stay outside while he went to get the hat. He accepted and entered the room. I coudent stop watching the cat. I don't know if it was because it was scary or because there was nothing else to look at, but i simply coudent.

After 10 minutes, Smithy went out with the hat on his hands. It was green with gray squares. It looked like if the person who wear it had a little long head, And maybe bold, because it wasn't very used. Now we just needed to run like a 7 year old child with the boggy man behind her.

We passed the cat with the giant face, we passed the creepy hall, and stopped before we opened the door, i opened the bag, and he put the hat inside. We did it like a professional team; very fast and synchronized. We stopped and took a big breath, and then we went out. It seamed that everyone was looking bad at us, but i think that it was just my imagination. Everything was fine, except that i coudent forget the freaking cat. I felt like if it was just in front of me. IT was a very bad feeling. I went home, changed my pants, and went to sleep.

The next day the feeling was gone. Smithy had cleaned his record, we were taking a lot again, Billy and John got suspended from school for stealing another nerds book. everything turned just the way the should. And me, well 30 years later i started to tell stories to young people in the library that i own with my wife, and i am still Smithys best friend.

Hi arturo, I really liked how you told the plot elements of your story. For what i think, that like a 3.8. It really made me interested in the book. The only problem is that you missed some parts of the plot. Something that was very impressive was how you described Alex. It seemed like if you know it from real life.

Hi felipe angarita, I really liked your book analysis. It was very complete and very very organized. You gave the exact information to make the book sound very interesting. Something that was very impressive, was your characterization part. Its very complete, full of details, with a lot of concert facts. It is very good, but if you could just add a little more information on the setting, it will be perfect!

Hi rafa, you did a good job at explaining the plot. It was very good, but short. I think that if you make It longer, you can start selling copies and win a lot of money because your book seems very good. Also you could add a little more to your characterization part.    

Plot elements Stormbreaker

Introduction: The introduction is (for me) one of the best introductions ever. The introduction has to be interesting, but it also has to give some information, but not so much. When i started reading it, i was shocked. The intension and the drama of the introduction was so good, i recommended this book without even finish reading it. The introduction tells about the main characters life (Alex Rider) and how he thought that his uncle was just a simple guy who worked at a bank, but what he didn't know has that he was a secret agent that worked for the MI6. His baby sitter/ best friend comes from america and dosent know how much time she got left in England.

Rising Action: Here is were the story get really interesting. It starts to push up the action and accumulate the drama. It was really clear that this was the rising action because here alex discovers that his uncle was killed on a mission. When he goes to his funeral, there are lots of wired men that he didn't recognized, and then he finds his uncles car with bullet holes! The MI6 tell him that he has  the opportunity to revenge his uncle. After a lot of hesitation, Alex accepts, and gets send to a military training facility. He was with a group that didn't use names, they used code names like for example wolf. He was cub. No body liked him at the beginning, but at the end they are all friends. When he finishes the training, they tell him what to do. His uncle was doing an undercover job in a company called Saylers Interprice. They made computers. recently they had intended the Stormbreaker, a computer that had the newest technology in the whole world. The company was runed by a very rich bad man called Herod Sayler. He was going to give a computer to every school in Europe. He was going to go there like a student who won a contest and was going to try the Stormbreaker. They gave his some gadgets and off he went.

Climax: This is obviously the best part of the story, because he is in the enemys base, all by himself. Here is were the story starts to unfold, here is were the action and drama really is shown. Here he discovers Sayler's plan. Something that might be worthless, but i think it was pretty cool, is that as soon has he gets to  Sayler's house, he sees this giant Portugues Man O War. This is a really big medusa. This shows that this guy is really bad, who keeps a 8 feet medusa in his living room? When he goes to try the Stormbreaker, he plays with it like for 2 hours, and then he escapes the room. He goes into the factory, and discovers a horrible secret. In all the Stormbreakers the is a virus a very lethal virus. If all the governments systems are down, he can start a war. To activate the virus, he is going to use the prime minister. He is going to make his push the button that will "connect" all the stormbreakers, and the virus. When he goes back to the head cutters of the MI6, he tells them and go ruing to the national museum that was the lunching spot that same day!

Falling Action: Here is when he stops Sayler and finds out some horrible secrts. Another stupid but interesting fact, is that from sayler interprice to london (were his uncle was killed) he was in a very powerful mercedez. He stops the prime minister from pushing that yellow (i imagen) button. After the MI6 did some more research, the virus wasn't only computer, but also there was a smallpox like diseases. Herod had escaped, but at the end he gets killed by the same killer that killed alexs uncle.

Resolution: He goes bak to school, and to his normal life. Also his best friend get to stay in England because they gave her a visa.

Setting: England, London and in the country side of London

Characters: Alex Rider, Ean Rider, Herod Sayler, Mr. gin, Vole, Mrs Jones, Alan Blund

For me this was a very good book, it was amazing how the author manages to  create action and drama since the introduction.

Audience behavior

My behavior was good. I didn't talk, i didn't chat on the cell phone, i accept that i got distracted once, but only once. Also my behavior was so extremely good, that i inspired other people to pay attention :D, and also i didn't disturb anybody. The whole class behavior was very good. You should be very very proud.

The worst audience behavior is....

Talking. I think it that because it distracts the people that are presenting. Also they might be someone else in the audience that is really interested in the show, and it is disturbed and distracted by the chating. Another good reason, is that the person that is preforming will feel bad. He works very hard and spends a lot of time practicing and preparing for the show, and when he sees that you are not paying attention, he will think that you didn't like and all the time and effort he had put in, were just a wast of time.

Introduction: Smithy is a 15 year old nerd, that has a perfect a perfect school record. He is very intelligent, and also is very good convincing people to do the things he wants. His beast friend is called Lorence, he is also very nerd, but no as much as smithy. 

Climax: this is when the school bullies, make Smithy get late to one class. This would destroy smithies perfect record: so he disides to go to zeus and ask him to take the tardy. Zeus tells smithy that the only way to change that tardy, was if he stole the notes from hades. Zeus gives him 2 special things that he would need in the voyage to hell.

Falling Action: Smithy has the notes, but hades sends his minions to kill smithy and lorence. Her is when smithy uses the 2 artifacts that suez gave him. 

Resolution: smithy understands that he has to maintain a balance in school and with the friends. he finds a girl friend, and at the end he goes to harvard.

The plot is the sequence of the events in the story. The climax is the part of the story that is most interesting. The resolution is the last part of the story. Her is when al the loose ends tied up. Raising Action, this is when the characters problems start to develop. Also this is when the story starts to get interesting (develop) . The introduction is when the characters are introduced. Here is when they show their talents. Characterization is basically how the author makes the characters. It is how he tries to make them more real.

Every character has to have a look. A look is one of the things that define a character; its what makes it more real. The character has to have a talent. That's one of the things that are interesting of a story; how the characters talent, helps to move on during the problem. The ambition of the character, sometimes helps the problem, or it helps the character to focus. Also the character has to have a deep dark secret. I learned that WHO is referred to people, and THA to the rest. At the beginning I didn't understand, but when I came to opportunity, I understood.

Journal

                          Some of the most seen problems in middle school, or at least by looking it in the point of view of a student, are the following. For me the mayor problem is the time. The time is the general most problematic problem of all. The time in between classes for me is to short. You don't have time to go to the locker, go to the bathroom and then to the other class. If you do that you end up with a tardy. Something that has really helped are the bells. They stared ringing the bells to announce when the break ends stared this year.

                        Another mayor problem that happens in middle school are the materials. I now the this is a problem that is not very common, but for me since I am in middle school has been a problem. Not only for me, but also for my mother. She says that I carry to much things in my bag. The only class that I don't need more than 2 things is english. All the other classes need al least 2 books or binders. Everything is supposed to go in the locker, but as I told you before, the time is very little. Also the locker; to be easy to use, has to be organized, it is impossible to have a organized locker with that little time.

The book I read this year was Alcapone does my Shirts. It is about this kid called Moose, that moves into alcatraz! Not to the real prison, but to the island. The main idea is that Moose is starting a new life and the whole book is about how he does it. Another thing that happens is that he need to take care of his sister. She has mental problems. The characters are: Moose Flangan, his sister Natalie Flangan, Scout he is a friend of moose, Moose's mother and father, the Warden, the Warden's daughter Piper, Theresa,  convict 105 he is a convict that talks to natalie. The theme of this book is, you can not let other people influence you. Don't fall for peer pressure. A connection y did to this book is when Moose is fighting with his mom because he docent what to be with his sister all day. I have a friend that has done that a lot of times. If I had to change the title of this book, it would be to "alcatraz, alcapone, and me".  Thats because the book shows how alcatraz, and the idea of alcapone living in the same place, I would say that changes Moose.
